This month, our students have been learning about the incredible contributions of Black American historical figures! Each classroom chose an inspiring individual, explored their achievements, and worked together to create a special board showcasing aspects of that person's life. These meaningful projects are now proudly showcased in the lobby to teach and inspire. We love seeing our students celebrate history, diversity, and the power of knowledge! #BlackHistoryMonth

Merryhill Midtown National Junior Honor Society students recently spent some quality time at Front Street Animal Shelter. These amazing kids rolled up their sleeves and got to work, cleaning animal areas, washing dishes, and most importantly, showering the adorable residents with love and playtime! Volunteering is important for so many reasons. It teaches us compassion, empathy, and the value of helping others. It connects us to our community and makes a real difference in the lives of those in need – both two-legged and four-legged! A huge thank you to Front Street Animal Shelter for all the amazing work you do, and for allowing students to bring their dedication and passion to be part of the work you are doing. We had a fantastic time ringing in the Lunar New Year with our students! The day was filled with excitement—from a fun dragon puppet show to receiving red envelopes, learning about horoscopes from our wonderful parent volunteers, painting snakes, and sampling delicious treats! Learning about different cultures and customs is a fun and exciting part of our Links to Learning curriculum, helping children explore and appreciate the world around them, and giving us the opportunity to celebrate and honor the beautiful diversity of all our families! In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, one of our schools held a Historical Hero Day last week. Some pretty amazing figures made an appearance including Martin Luther King, Jr., Friday Kahlo, Malcolm X, Amelia Earhart, George Washington, Dolly Parton, Neil Armstrong, Rosa Parks, Steve Jobs, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Larry Itliong, Lucille Ball, Rosie the Riveter, and more! Our new Merryhill Midtown Preschool is officially open! Our amazing teachers have poured their hearts into creating an inviting learning environment, and we are excited to welcome our very first preschoolers to experience this with us. Our Holiday Giving initiative was a huge success this year, thanks to the incredible support from our school community! Together, we were able to spread joy and kindness to families in need, making this holiday season a little brighter for everyone. This year, we were able to donate: 🧸 Nearly 600 toys 👕 40 clothing items 📚 100 books ❤️ 100 items for formerly homeless women and their children building a new life We couldn’t be more grateful for the generosity shown. Merryhill Elk Grove had an incredible turnout at Elk Grove's Parade of Lights! Over 150 family members joined us, and we had two fantastic floats. Families and staff embraced the holiday spirit, donning Grinch-themed attire to either walk alongside us in the parade or cheer us on from the sidelines. It was a truly magical evening filled with joy and excitement, and we can't wait to do it again next year! #HolidaySpirit #Grinchmas #Parade #HappyHolidays

We love being able to collaborate and share with other schools in the Spring Education Group network! Kindergarten classes at Merryhill Arlington had the fun opportunity to visit our sister preschool, Xplor Preschool, to do some activities with their Pre-K students. Making connections beyond our own school communities creates more learning opportunities for our students, and we appreciate the teachers who facilitate these moments! #EarlyChildhoodEducation #Preschool

Our season of giving continues with our students helping to make a positive impact on their communities by donating over 250 toys, books, and self-care items to Ronald McDonald House Charities! Our season of giving is here! Each year, Merryhill preschool students take part in our Holiday Giving campaign to support local initiatives during the holiday season. Through these efforts, students have the opportunity to spread cheer, develop gratitude for what they have, and experience the positive impact of their kindness.
