The 2025 MBCEA Building of the Year contest is now open for entries from all Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA) contractor members!   To be eligible, buildings/projects must have been completed after January 1, 2024. Entries will be reviewed by a panel of industry judges based on the following criteria: Aesthetics, Unusual or Interesting Features, Quality/Safety, AC478 Accreditation, Complexity, and Green Building Elements.   Submissions are due by February 26, 2025 and awards will be announced at the Annual Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 9, 2025. In addition to an overall winner, Awards of Merit and Excellence are given for buildings in multiple categories. At the Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA) Mid Atlantic Division (MAD) holiday party in December, two scholarships were awarded. Will Hance and Cade Hutchison were each awarded $6,000 for their educational endeavors.   Cade is a sophomore at the University of Vermont and is studying civil engineering. He is sponsored by Thomas Phoenix International of Easthampton, New Jersey, where he has worked for several summers. Will is a first year student at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ and is studying entrepreneurship and construction management.
