MCA's December Employee Spotlight is Lauren Taylor! Lauren joined MCA a year and a half ago, inspired by the company’s purpose of working together to create a world without boundaries, the impact their work has on local communities, and the team’s supportive environment. While it’s hard for her to pick a single standout project, she finds the most fulfillment in seeing her marketing work improve over time. She enjoys the challenge of launching new projects and the professional growth that comes with each one. Lauren believes each project is a new opportunity to push herself and expand her skillsets. Lauren demonstrates the MCA Core Values of being Proactive, Inclusive, and Team-Oriented. To her, these values are essential when coordinating projects with various subject matter experts across different departments. Proactivity helps projects maintain their timeline. Inclusivity is crucial when gathering information and learning from professionals to ensure marketing activities are both accurate and efficient. These pair with being team-oriented, building relationships with each of your teammates, and understanding the best way to collaborate with each other and get the job done. It also means making sacrifices for the good of the team, which is all the more rewarding when the team succeeds. One of the main reasons Lauren stays at MCA is the supportive environment. The company culture encourages growth and collaboration, making every day an opportunity to learn. Looking forward, she’s excited to see how the Business Development and Marketing team will grow and the new projects she’ll tackle in 2025.

Commemorating #15YearsofMCA: A Spotlight on Powering Partnerships As MCA celebrates its 15th anniversary, we’re shedding some light on our long-standing collaboration with the City of Highland Park. What started as a small stormwater analysis in 2015 has grown into a 9-year partnership that has shaped MCA into the consultant we are today. The City of Highland Park has been more than just a client—it's been a catalyst for our evolution. From lawsuits and road rehabilitation to water main replacements and grant applications, almost every department at MCA has worked on a Highland Park project. This partnership taught us how to do more with less, adapt to new challenges, and push the boundaries of our expertise. One of our proudest moments? Helping the City resolve a lawsuit with the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) that resulted in debt forgiveness and infrastructure improvements. Thanks to Highland Park, MCA has expanded our services and evolved into a complete consultant, providing everything from asset management to construction oversight. As MCA celebrates 15 years of innovation, we’re reflecting on one of the projects that helped launch our journey: the Owensboro to Catlettsburg (OWC) Replacement Pipeline! This 40+ mile pipeline required our team to establish a GPS control network for precise boundary surveys, topographic data, pipeline routing, and pipeline layout. While securing the pipeline replacement’s routing, our team created MCA’s foundation of commitment to tackling complex challenges and delivering quality.
