"The mass of people helps soak up the sound. They tighten things up sonically and make shows more fun to mix." – Nick Cartwright (Metro Lead Audio Engineer) At our nearly century-old theater, natural acoustics, a top-tier PA, and the energy of a sold-out crowd come together to create a truly unforgettable experience. Great sound isn’t just about technology—it’s about history, architecture, and the magic of hearing your favorite band in an intimate setting. Thank you Newcity Stage, for shining a spotlight on our sound design team! Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gtg-cncc 🎶 #LiveMusic #ConcertVenues #Acoustics

An outtake from Mark Kauzlarich's photos for the Haven Watch Co. profile in Volume 10 of HODINKEE, Inc. Magazine (June 2022). This is me in the green room at Metro • smartbar • Gman Tavern. I'm wearing a Haven watch and sitting in between two of my screenprint designs: on the left is the one (The Faint & TV On The Radio, 2004) that helped me get hired for my former job there as art director, and on the right is the first one I'd designed while on the the job (Secret Machines, 2005). There's also a Babes In Toyland print by Frank Kozik (RIP) in partial view, plus one of Jay Ryan's classic prints for Built To Spill, and I'm directly obscuring Wilson's print for Elliott Smith— a show I'd driven down to Chicago for while attending college in Madison WI. There are SO many more from the venue's 40+ year history on that wall, selected and arranged by my wife Stacey Marquardt, the venue's Business Development & Special Events Director. Haven designed a limited edition watch for Metro, highlighting their recent 40th anniversary. Read more about it at https://lnkd.in/gpQ3AxPY
