Mezclada got a new website! https://mezclada.co/ So grateful to my colleague Emma Maddock for the big lift of 2024 to create a complete refresh of Mezclada's digital presence and to better communicate what it is that me and my team do on a daily basis. Since starting this back in 2020, I wasn't really sure where it would take me...and boy am I grateful for the incredible people I've met along the way and the networks I've had the privilege to be a part of. For any of you fellow small-business owners out there, you know that usually by the time you publish something, it's already out of date. :) You also know that published is BETTER than perfect. So cheers to imperfection and the adventures ahead. Let's go kick some butt this year! This morning I was reminded of the importance of knowing what you need to build yourself up, to motivate you when you have no one else but yourself to hold you accountable. As a small business owner, the milestones of followers on a specific platform mean a lot. Every single follower is like a nod from the universe that you're on the right path, that people believe in what you do, or are at least curious enough to want to find out more. I have my dad to thank for sharing a YouTube video from Casey Neistat with me many years ago, which is something that I listen to often to get in a good headspace and feel pumped for the day ahead, knowing that my mission with Mezclada is so much bigger than me, and that what I want to create doesn't have to look like anything that I've seen before or that already exists. In fact, I think that's what makes my work so fulfilling and energizing. Thanks to each any every one of you 700 followers out there - whether you know me personally or you just saw my network request come in to connect and were intrigued by what you saw on my LinkedIn profile. 🚨 Funding Alert for Clean Energy & Farm Sustainability Advocates! 🚨 Minnesota’s small farms are vital to our communities—and now there’s an opportunity to bring clean energy solutions to these operations while supporting their long-term economic resilience. The Minnesota State Competitiveness Fund (SCF) is offering up to $100M in matching grants to eligible entities applying for federal funds from the IIJA and IRA. At least $75M is reserved for grants under $1M, and applications for this round close Friday, January 17, 2025! ✨ How this helps farms: Renewable energy projects on farms can cut costs and generate income. Energy-efficient practices reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainability. Clean energy solutions can position small farms as leaders in innovation while fostering resilience in a changing climate. 💼 Who can help? Today marks two major milestones for Mezclada and I wanted to make sure to express my gratitude for your support! We have officially hit the 600 followers milestone here on LinkedIn, which goes to show how much we've grown since the beginning of this year! Back in January, I started this page with just under 100 followers and no plan for how I would share with folks what I was working on and engage with those in the professional environment. Secondly, I just received a letter in my inbox on Monday with the official designation through the MNUCP program (Minnesota Unified Certification Program), designating Mezclada as a Hispanic-American, Female-Owned Business! This will allow us to rise to the top of different contracting opportunities to continue to positively influence our regional, statewide, and national food systems.
