Nicole Hutzler, Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) at Magellan Federal, says, “I assisted a local high school in Maine to put on a ‘Salute to Armed Forces’ event, featuring one of their long-time coaches who recently passed away, Commander (CDR) Mike Guyer. Over 100 active duty and Veteran soldiers were recognized personally at the event, along with their time of service and accomplishments. For many, it was their first time formally recognized for their service. Adam Williams was a team lead for two Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Advanced Camp Regiments at Fort Knox, KY, from May through August as part of the Cadet Summer Training (CST) Mission. Mary Keeler, Laura Evans (pictured), Eugene Wentworth, M.S., CMPC, and others were team leads for one Army ROTC (Official Page) Advance Camp Regiment. Team leads led a team of three additional performance experts to deliver resilience and human performance skills to 5,445 Cadets. All team leaders tirelessly and enthusiastically conducted numerous ad hoc training opportunities and participated in field-based training events, such as land navigation and the rifle marksmanship range. Despite 86-degree temperatures and near 100% humidity, all team leads provided valuable training on focus, mindfulness, and deliberate breathing techniques. Master Resilience Trainer-Performance Experts (MRT-PEs) Nicole Harnisch, M.S., CMPC, Joe Stonecypher, and others from the Fort Leavenworth Ready and Resilient (R2) Performance Center trained Soldiers from A Company, Midwest Joint Regional Correctional Facility Battalion during a senior leader off-site visit.
