About us

The mission of Midtown Community Services is to provide a wholesome, peaceful center where individuals, families & especially children can be nurtured, supported and build community together. Midtown offers people access to connections and resources for realizing their value and full potential. Since opening its doors in early 2017, Midtown has strived to break down barriers created by poverty, isolation and prejudice through community-centered programming, which includes: - Family PRIDE (Parent Resources, Infant Development and Environment): To reduce the high infant mortality rate in St. Louis, which exceeds Third World countries in some neighborhoods, Family PRIDE provides educational outreach, well-baby care information and support groups to pregnant women and new mothers in its census area. This year, 100% of Family PRIDE babies were born healthy. - Youth Program: Midtown offers afterschool youth development programs, a weekly teen club and a summer camp program to children at-risk in the area. From STEAM programming and cooking classes to tutoring and college prep, kids boost their learning and confidence. - Midtown Mamas: Women of all ages meet once a week to participate in activities, take part in classes and workshops, and volunteer in the communities where they live. They also help connect young families to Midtown’s programs and services. - Midtown Men’s Club: Like the Mamas, the Men’s Club is focused on community service, volunteering regularly with Food Outreach to serve those living with HIV or cancer and with City Greens Market to ensure their neighbors have access to fresh, healthy food. - Coffee Talk: Twice a month, neighbors, community advocates and business owners come together to address social issues, both nationally and locally, that impact those living in St. Louis. - Walking Club: Participants walk around local neighborhoods and parks every Monday and Friday or work out together at Midtown’s community center.

  • We love when young people come together to make our community the best it can be! Please join sisters Ruth and Elly Christopher for the 4th annual Home for the Holidays benefit concert to benefit Midtown's Family PRIDE program. On Friday, December 27, musicians from across St. Louis will perform your holiday favorites in one incredible show. Enjoy the sounds of the season while helping provide free doula care, therapy, workshops, and playgroups to the families in Family PRIDE!

  • It was a magical morning at our Breakfast with Santa this past Saturday! Our hearts are full of gratitude to Santa Claus for taking time out of his busiest season to join us - and to the Grinch who stopped by to spread some mischievous cheer! Special thanks to the incredible University of Dayton Alumni Association volunteers and Midtown's incredible staff who poured their hearts into making this December 7th event truly unforgettable. Your dedication and holiday spirit made every moment special for all our guests!

  • Our Midtown Mamas recently celebrated the holidays at Crown Candy Kitchen where they enjoyed lunch and shopped the candy counter. They also received their holiday gift baskets thanks to our generous sponsors. Thanks to the crew at Crown Candy for the excellent customer service!

  • Once again, we're blown away by the generosity of the St. Louis Cardinals, Cardinals Care, and everyone who donated to their annual Gift Drive for children in St. Louis! Santa, Mrs. Claus, Buddy the Elf, and Cardinals Care volunteers loaded up our sleigh (or in this case, a rented U-Haul) with hundreds of presents for Midtown's kiddos! Thank you so much to Michael, Bonnie, Meghan, and everyone involved with this incredible organization for being such an amazing partner over the years.

  • Midtown believes in building strong communities by providing a helping hand to our neighbors and friends. Over the past two weeks, our community members, staff, and board members have worked together for a number of causes: - We delivered homemade chili, snacks, drinks, coats, and blankets to unhoused individuals throughout St. Louis. - As part of Old Newsboys - St. Louis Day, we joined other nonprofits to sell newspapers to raise funds for children's programs across the region. - Our Men's Club volunteered at Operation Food Search to organize and pack food for families in need. In addition, Men's Club members will start volunteering with our new neighbor, Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis. Thank you to all of our supporters who help us in our volunteer efforts!
