ExxonMobilEgypt (Upstream) Limited safely completed drilling of the Nefertari 1 well in the North Marakia Block with the Valaris Limited DS-9 drillship. Gas bearing reservoirs were encountered, and ExxonMobil will continue to evaluate the results. The well was spud in December in the #North #Marakia concession area, in Egypt’s West Mediterranean. The prospect had a pre-drill estimate of 3-5 Tcf of gas. ExxonMobil operates with a 60% share, alongside its partner QatarEnergy 40%. This is ExxonMobil’s first exploration well #offshore #Egypt. The US Major has been building a portfolio of exploration acreage in the area over the past few years. Italian energy giant Eni has hit the market with a tender for a mobile offshore drilling rig, specifically a drillship, to drill an exploration well on its Ganal deepwater acreage offshore East Kalimantan, #Indonesia. The operator is prequalifying rig owners to supply a drillship to operate in water depths of between 2000 and 2200 metres. The requirement is for a drillship equipped with DP3 dynamic positioning to drill a single wildcat. The workscope will include, but is not limited to, drilling, re-entry, coring, completion and well testing. Eni holds a 83,3% participating interest and operates the North Ganal Block – Geng North field, with Agra Energi Pte Ltd as partner holding the remaining 16.7%. #EGYPTIAN EPC giants PETROJET and ENPPI alliance have won a contract worth $1.24 Billion with the UAE's ADNOC Group to contribute on the development of the pressure facilities in the #Ruwais LNG project. The contract, signed between the Petrojet-Enppi alliance and ADNOC, involves the execution of infrastructure works for the project and implementing pipelines that will connect the #Habshan complex to the #Ruwais LNG facility. The Ruwais project is expecting to increase the ADNOC's LNG production capacity over 15 million metric tons. It's great to mention, this contract is the largest in the history of ADNOC's cooperation with the UAE.

Noble Corporation and PETRONAS Suriname E&P B.V. have entered into an agreement for the high-specification semisubmersible rig #Noble #Developer to drill three wells offshore #Suriname. The contract is expected to commence around June 2025, with an estimated duration of 200 days. The firm contract value is approximately $84 million including additional services provided, mobilization and demobilization fees. 📉 Suez Canal Revenue Drops by 60% and CO₂ Emissions Increase by 41 Million Tons This year, the Suez Canal lost $7 billion in revenue, a 60% drop caused by shipping attacks in the Red Sea. For Egypt, where the canal generates 15% of its foreign currency, this is a serious challenge. Many ships have been rerouted around the Horn of Africa, adding an average of 7,500 kilometers to their journeys. This not only increases costs but also produces significant additional CO₂ emissions, estimated at 41 million tons of CO₂ annually (BCG).
