MCC and the Government of Mauritania 🇲🇷 signed a $27 million threshold program to modernize the country’s energy sector and enhance environmental resilience. This program will: 1️⃣ Support Mauritania’s goal of universal access to electricity by 2030. 2️⃣ Build capacity for effective energy management and grid operation. 3️⃣ Advance environmental sustainability through institutional strengthening. As part of the National Defense Authorization Act, President Biden signed the MCC Candidate Country Reform Act into law, expanding our candidate country pool to 33 additional countries. 2024 #YearinReview: In July, MCC is named the world’s most transparent bilateral development agency for the third consecutive time by the 2024 Aid Transparency Index, ranking third among all major international organizations.
