MHA recently recognized HealthPartners for their Perinatal Partner Program. Piloted in late 2023 at their Woodbury and Park Nicollet Brookdale clinics, the program connects Black patients and families with an OB-GYN team member who provides support, education, and resources to help patients achieve optimal health goals.

The need for behavioral health services in Minnesota is spilling over into hospitals and emergency departments. Dr. David Herman, CEO of Duluth-based Essentia Health, says this has an impact on access for all Minnesotans to get the care they need, when they need it.

Minnesota hospitals benefit their communities far beyond their walls. At Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, Allina Health runs an adaptive sports and recreation program to make these activities inclusive for adults and children with disabilities. Allina Health and the Minnesota Twins teamed up this summer for an adaptive softball clinic in Brooklyn Park. Senior Program Specialist Megan Welty says it's part of Courage Kenny's "whole person" approach to helping clients.

MHA recently recognized Stevens Community Medical Center for their yearly Fall into Health event. The event features activities including health education, a complimentary meal, on-site blood tests, and a compelling public speaker on the importance of wellness.

High blood pressure disorders affect one in seven patients during pregnancy or after delivery, leading to an increased risk of dangerous complications that can include stroke, heart failure, and seizures. To combat this, @M Health Fairview launched the HOPE-BP program, which provides new mothers diagnosed with high blood pressure disorders in pregnancy equipment to monitor and report their blood pressure from home for six weeks after delivery. Sanford Health's Bemidji Medical Center was recently recognized by MHA for their Neighborhood Connections program. In collaboration with the Bemidji Rotary Club, this initiative provides crucial support to residents facing poverty by helping with housing, food, and health care access.
