Wax up your skis- the trails at Northern Lights Nordic Ski Club are LIT! This #PostivelyPowerful group from Boswell Energy Center illuminated installed trail lights at the Legion Trails in Grand Rapids. About us
We began as a renewable energy company more than a century ago by harnessing the hydropower of the St. Louis River in northeastern Minnesota. Today, we’re an investor-owned electric utility and division of ALLETE Inc. We deliver safe, reliable, affordable and increasingly clean energy to 150,000 customers, including 14 municipal customers and some of the largest energy users in the United States in a 26,000-square-mile region of northern Minnesota rich with mineral deposits and timber. At Minnesota Power, employees at all levels can develop their strengths, broaden their experiences and take on new roles and responsibilities. We’re also proud to be recognized as a Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Company for our commitment to supporting service members, military families and veterans.

The community is at the heart of our Light Up the Plaza, and we hope the donations we announced tonight will help make a difference to three Duluth nonprofits that work with youth and fight food insecurity among children and adults. Frank Frederickson, vice president Minnesota Power Customer Experience and Engineering Services, announced the donations to the Family Freedom Center, the Damiano Center Kids’ Kitchen and the Chum Food Shelf. The Family Freedom Center supports youth in Duluth’s Central Hillside, the Damiano Center Kids’ Kitchen provides nutritious meals and nutrition education after school and in the summer, and the Chum Food Shelf provides boxes of healthy foods to individuals and families several times a week. Happy Holidays!

This week our employees donated more than $5,000 to the nonprofit through these delicious events and a silent auction. #PositivlyPowerful
