🗣️ "I believe that climate change is real", said Lee Zeldin, President-elect Donald Trump's new pick to lead the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Thursday. 🌐 Ahead of President Trump's inauguration today, we're keen to see how this administration differs from the last. Regardless of how aggressively targets are set and met, the world has progressed significantly in its #netzero ambitions over the last four years. 🔋 Today, whether it's an environmental or financial objective, reducing #emissions and being more efficient with the #energy we consume just makes sense, and will (and can) impact every industry in the US, and internationally. Here's a really interesting story on how in Europe is showing significant progress in it's #decarbonization plans. Take a look at this piece from Lauren Arena who highlights the key takeaways from the report, including: ✈️ In 2023, emissions from flights departing European airports were down 10 per cent on 2019 figures. 🤯 Only 6% of all flights accounted for 46% of the CO2 emitted. 💰 For any green skeptics out there, the report should more efficient economy at play... The average mass of CO2 emitted per passenger kilometre reduced to 83 grams in 2023, equivalent to 3.3 litres of fuel per 100 passenger kilometres. Incredible what can be achieve.
