Eagle and Carrizo Mountain Ranches | Texas ______________ $56,915,020 77,260 +/- Total Acres Brought to you in partnership with King Land and Water This is truly a mountain range very similar to the Davis Mountains and the Chisos Mountains of the Chihuahuan Desert. Eagle Mountain is the fifth highest range in the state with elevations ranging from the Rio Grande River to 7,484 feet at Eagle Peak. Most of the ranch consists of high mountains, wooded canyons, grasslands and desert scrub country near the river and lower slopes. The Eagle Mountain ranch has a network of roads, one of which supports the FAA tower at the summit. This road is paved with guardrails, culverts, and is maintained by the tower lessee. This road provides easy access to the higher elevations. There is a nice adobe headquarters in the mountains on the paved private road as well as several other improvements scattered around the ranch. Carrizo Mountain Ranch The 27,361-acre working cattle ranch includes the entire Carrizo Mountain range within its borders. It features wide grassland and scrubland, with two small headquarters in need of repair. The ranch also encompasses Bass Canyon, a historic location on the Overland Trail used during the mid-1800s. Eagle Mountain Ranch The 49,899-acre Eagle Mountain Ranch in Texas features a unique and accessible mountainous landscape, creating its own weather patterns during summer rains. This supports increased grasslands, lush woodlands, and diverse vegetation, making it an ideal habitat for wildlife, including a greater population of Mule Deer. St. Benedict’s Monastery⁠ Snowmass, Colorado⁠ _____________⁠ $150,000,000⁠ 3,720 +/- Total Acres⁠ ⁠ Located just outside Aspen, Colorado, the approximately 3,720 +/- total acre St. Benedict’s Monastery represents the largest holding in the immediate Snowmass/Aspen area. The property sits in a picturesque ranching valley surrounded by the lofty peaks of the Elk Mountain Range. Known for its peace and privacy, the Trappist monks have lived and managed this idyllic ranch for over 68 years. Wildlife and cattle have co-existed for years, and the ranch and adjoining protected lands have retained the same natural habitat and rural characteristics today as they did when the monks first arrived.⁠ ⁠ Most of the water rights owned by St. Benedict’s are used to irrigate the extensive Monastery grounds. The Monastery can irrigate up to 1,500 acres of hay fields, though, in a typical year, they irrigate closer to 1,200 acres. The St. Benedict water rights are typically reliable but depend on snowpack from the surrounding mountains.⁠ ⁠ Most fields are irrigated by flood irrigation, but St. Benedict’s owns six side-rolled sprinklers that are capable of irrigating about 40 acres each. St. Benedict’s grows hay with this water, producing, on average, about 300 tons per year. For most of its history, the monks cut, baled, and sold the hay.
