About us

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. DECA enhances the co-curricular education of members through a comprehensive learning program that integrates into classroom instruction, applies learning, connects to business and promotes competition. DECA’s activities assist in the development of academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible, experienced leaders. DECA Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit student organization with more than 200,000 members in all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Canada, China, Germany, Guam, Hong Kong, Korea, Mexico and Puerto Rico. The United States Congress, The United States Department of Education and state, district and international departments of education authorize DECA’s programs.

    Over the past few months I have had the opportunity to serve as the judging coordinator for Missouri DECA’s State Career and Development Conference. Yesterday, 155 judges provided the opportunity for 1,500+ high school students across Missouri to compete in various business, marketing, and entrepreneurship events. I am always blown away by the caliber of talent these students brings - they are the future of the business world, and I am proud to say so!     From July 12th to 14th, our new State Action Team had the privilege of attending the Emerging Leadership Summit (ELS) in Nashville, TN. This enriching experience allowed them to connect, learn, and grow together as a cohesive unit. The conference set the perfect tone to kick off our year, equipping us with valuable insights that will ensure Missouri DECA thrives once again. In the days leading up to ELS, the team underwent rigorous preparation. The new members of SAT 77 gathered in Kansas City, MO, for their State Executive Officer Training. Over the course of two days, these dedicated students deepened their understanding of their roles within the team. They passionately engaged in planning, training, and setting ambitious goals to ensure this DECA year is one of success. Their hard work and determination during these sessions have left us excited to see what the future holds for Missouri DECA. We can’t wait for SAT 77 to share their vision for the upcoming year.
