It was an incredible experience attending Computer Science Teachers Association Texas Chapters Conference for the first time and connecting with so many dedicated CS, AI, robotics, and STEM educators from across Texas! It was also a pleasure to reconnect with Yu Meng, who is a former App Inventor Teacher Excellence Awards winner. A highlight of the conference was the energetic keynote delivered by Jeanine Banks and Andrea Austin from Google who encouraged girls to explore CS early and showcased how AI is opening up new job opportunities for everyone. We’d like to thank everyone who joined and contributed to the thought-provoking discussion during our Ethical AI with App Inventor for Teachers workshop. We look forward to returning to Texas for WeTeach_CS this summer! 🚀 #AppInventorFoundation #MITAppInventor #TexasCSTAChapters2025

We are thrilled to welcome José Dominguez to the App Inventor Foundation as our new Principal Engineer! 🎉 With nearly two decades of experience building software across big companies and startups — while contributing to academic research and commercialization projects — José brings a deep passion for making technology accessible to all. José has been part of the App Inventor journey from the beginning! As a core contributor since MIT App Inventor was an open-source project and transitioned from Google in 2012, he played a key role in growing the open-source community, organizing public calls, and participating in global events like Google Summer of Code and Facebook Open Academy. Now, in a full-circle moment as Principal Engineer, José will focus on enhancing the platform’s features and accessibility, collaborating closely with the team at MIT to ensure that App Inventor remains a powerful tool for learners and educators worldwide.
