♻️ A new lease on life for #BioWaste – Transforming waste into value! ♻️ With 86 million tonnes of biowaste generated annually in Europe, innovative solutions are crucial to unlocking its full potential. A recent #HorizonEUMagazine article highlights how projects like #BIORECER are working to ensure the traceability and certification of biowaste-derived products, reinforcing consumer and industry trust in sustainable materials. At #MixMatters, we share this vision by developing smart and flexible processes to separate and valorise #mixedbiowaste from the #agrifood value chain. By integrating advanced separation technologies and multiple valorisation pathways, we turn waste into high-value bio-based materials, reducing environmental impact and fostering a more efficient #CircularEconomy. 🌱🔬 🚀 Why does this matter? 🔹 Certified and traceable biowaste-based materials can boost adoption in industries, closing the loop on sustainability. 🔹 Smart biowaste valorisation reduces reliance on fossil-based resources and cuts emissions. 🔹 A strong EU-wide bioeconomy needs both certification and efficient waste valorisation to drive impact. 🔗 Read more about the EU’s push for biowaste transformation: https://lnkd.in/dhZQpm2G The project is co-funded by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) initiative under the Horizon Europe program. - Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC)

🤝 🌍 Nicolas Issaly Cristina Jodar Marco VITO ILVO (Instituut voor Landbouw, Visserij- en Voedingsonderzoek) VTT TECNALIA Research & Innovation SITRA Agua Industrial & Bioenergía Wagralim, the Agri-Food Innovation Cluster of Wallonia FEDACOVA Recycleye ENCO Engineering and Consulting srl Universidad de Almería Funditec BIONET
