We're proud to be part of the Mass High Tech Council, working together to strengthen our community.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Massachusetts High Technology Council, Inc.’s 2024 Biennial Social Annual Meeting at The Library at Mooo…Seaport in Boston! It was a fantastic evening filled with great conversations and valuable networking opportunities. We’d also like to express our sincere gratitude to MKS Instruments, KPMG, and McKinsey & Company for their generous sponsorships, as well as to our guest speakers for sharing their expertise: • William Rinehart, Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, offered critical insights into how state-level AI regulations are shaping U.S. policy and shared valuable guidance for Massachusetts in navigating this evolving space. • Mass Opportunity Alliance strategist, Michael Saltsman from Berman and Company delivered an update on the early successes of our new business climate strategy priority—an exciting step forward for our collective growth and competitiveness. We look forward to working with the following new members of our Board of Directors as we advance meaningful outcomes that enhance the state's business environment: • John Chartier, McKinsey & Company • John Connaughton, Bain Capital • Russell Low, Ph.D, Axcelis Technologies • Val Panier, Boston Consulting Group (BCG)

My Innovation Story - Eric Mechtenberg, Senior Recruiter Leveraging AI and Robotic Process Automation in HR is not just a trend, it's a game-changer. Our HR team was tasked with creating standardized job descriptions for 1,666 active job profiles across MKS' global workforce. The goal was to have a single, consistent source for drafting and updating job descriptions (JDs) worldwide. This was a huge undertaking that would take a lot of time and resources to accomplish manually. I had previous career experience that gave me insight into how automation could enhance efficiency and drive value in projects like the JD standardization initiative. I proposed leveraging Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to automate not only the repetitive tasks of copying and pasting JDs but also the more complex processes, such as updating competencies and preparing for future acquisitions requiring job additions in Workday. We collaborated with the IT team to implement Robotic Process Automation technology, using bots to automate repetitive tasks. The bots efficiently extracted and formatted the data into our job description templates and replaced a large portion of the repetitive tasks that would have been done by members in the project team. This innovative approach not only saved time and resources, but it set the stage for long-term cost savings. The success of this initiative demonstrates the broader value that RPA can bring to our organization as we continue to look for innovative ways to work smarter, faster and more efficiently. https://ow.ly/JaxW50Ua6gg #MKSCareers

MKS Instruments Expands Global Footprint with State-of-the-Art Facility in Penang MKS held a groundbreaking ceremony October 24th for its super center factory in Penang, Malaysia. Our state-of-the-art facility in Penang is our largest in the world and will be located on a 17-acre plot, spanning an impressive 460,000 square feet, and employing approximately 1,000 people. This strategic move allows us to leverage Penang's robust ecosystem and its deep and talented labor pool and puts us closer to our customers and suppliers so we can continue to spur innovation and enhance our capabilities as a leader in #semiconductor manufacturing applications. We are proud to contribute to Penang’s socioeconomic growth with the creation of this super center factory. Watch the video and hear from Mr. Dave Henry, Executive Vice President, Operations and Corporate Marketing at MKS Instruments, Mr. Francis Peters, Senior Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy, and YB Tuan Goh Choon Aik, Penang State Assemblyman for Bukit Tambun.
