The Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) in the Department of Energy has announced its first SBIR program and issued a pre-solicitation to fund up to $30 million for up to seven Pilot-scale Rapid Operational Validation of Key Energy Infrastructure Technologies (PROVE IT) projects: OCED eXCHANGE: Funding Opportunities This program will support small businesses conducting operational validation of a pilot-scale project before it can be deemed ready for a large-scale demonstration or commercialization and deployment. Activities include integrating, operating, and testing existing pilot systems under industrial-relevant conditions. Key aspects of the program include using a simplified R&D procurement mechanism, an application process that’s streamlined and reduces the burden on applicants. The program focuses on technical as well as commercialization and adoption goals. Topic Areas will be Point Source Carbon Capture & Long-Duration Energy Storage. 🎉 Exciting News! 🚀 One of our esteemed firms, XanthosHealth, led by Pinar Karaca-Mandic and David Haynes, has been competitively awarded a $1,880,487 National Cancer Institute (NCI) STTR Phase II grant! XanthosHealth's innovative platform, ConnectedNest, tackles the critical issue of social determinants of health (SDoH) impacting individuals facing cancer. The goal? To reduce health inequities and adverse outcomes.
