About us
Dr. Richard Wilson is a board-certified Chiropractic Physician and is licensed to practice Chiropractic in the State of Connecticut. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Southern Connecticut State University and his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from the National University of Health Sciences. His unique skillset and experience has allowed him the opportunity to work with patients of all ages and abilities, including amateur and professional athletes. Dr. Wilson utilizes a number of safe and effective treatment methods including Cox flexion-distraction, Activator, Diversified, and Thompson manipulative techniques. In addition, he is trained in Active Release Technique (A.R.T.), a soft tissue movement based technique that is extremely effective for treating repetitive strain injuries and strain/sprain type injuries. A.R.T. is also very effective for the treatment of carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, rotator cuff, hand conditions (numbness/tingling), sciatic nerve, low back conditions, shin splints, and many foot conditions. Dr. Wilson also has extensive training in the use of non-surgical, computerized spinal decompression therapy, which is an innovative, non-surgical procedure developed for the treatment of painful and disabling spinal disorders caused by disc herniations, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, and facet osteoarthritis. This scientifically proven treatment relieves pressure within the spine by achieving decompression of intervertebral discs and facet joints. Dr. Wilson also utilizes therapeutic and rehabilitative exercise, cold laser, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and Kinesio Tape™, as well as, many other complementary techniques and modalities. Kinesio Tape™ is a rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion as well as providing extended soft tissue manipulation.
