  • Week 3 of Impact Fridays! This week, we're shining a light on Land & Resiliency, a key area dedicated to strengthening the heart of Montana: our communities and landscapes. With a changing environment, it’s more important than ever to build a resilient Montana that can adapt to challenges, preserve our natural beauty, and support local communities in times of need. Resiliency & Disaster Response – In the face of disasters, it’s our local community foundations that play a vital role in providing timely resources, support, and recovery efforts. Whether it’s wildfires, flooding, or other challenges, these organizations are on the ground, ensuring that Montana’s communities have the tools they need to recover and thrive. Grants – Community foundations across Montana are stepping up by offering funding opportunities to support land conservation, environmental sustainability, and community-based projects that build resilience. These grants help empower local leaders to tackle pressing environmental issues, preserve our landscapes, and create lasting impact in our neighborhoods. Montana’s strength lies in the resilience of its people and its land. By supporting these efforts through local foundations, we can ensure that our communities are not only prepared for challenges, but also equipped to protect and celebrate our state’s unique beauty. Together, we can make a lasting difference in Montana! #ImpactFridays #LandAndResiliency #MontanaStrong

  • The Montana Community Foundation announces its annual grant cycle from the William B. Pratt Fund to benefit Montana traditional and folk art, as well as media arts in Montana. Applicants may apply in one of two funding categories: 1- Traditional and Folk Arts, which are rooted in the cultural and artistic traditions of Montana tribes, communities and ethnic and occupational groups and 2- Media Arts that produce documentaries about Montana arts, culture and history, offer Media Arts Educational Programming or present public programs of documentaries about Montana arts, culture or history. Both grant programs emphasis supporting Indigenous artists, communities, and organizations. Grant amounts will range from $500 to $2,000, and applications will be accepted from January 13 to March 31, 2025. Montana 501(c)(3) organizations and local, state, and tribal governments are eligible to apply. Individual artists and other entities may apply under a fiscal sponsorship. Apply at https://buff.ly/3HrMOiM. Through this grant process, Bill hopes to see some of the impact of his legacy in Montana and on the arts community. "Montana’s cultural heritage is rich and diverse, yet many stories and traditions remain untold. This fund ensures that those unique voices—woven through our traditional and folk arts—are preserved and shared for generations to come. By supporting these projects, we honor our past and keep our cultural identity alive, inspiring and educating our communities,” stated Bill Pratt.
