We love these beautiful watercolor renderings of Robinson Terminal North, created by MA’s talented Senior Designer, Rossana Russo Pavone. Located along the Potomac River in Old Town Alexandria, VA, this mixed-use development reimagines a historic post-industrial site. Thoughtfully designed to complement its historic surroundings, the project enhances the waterfront and streetscape, creating a vibrant community space. Morris Adjmi Architects
Architecture and Planning
We create buildings and environments that stand out by fitting in.
About us
Morris Adjmi Architects (MA) interprets the historic forces that shape our cities to design buildings that are both contextual and contemporary. The firm’s diverse team of architects and interior designers is guided by a shared belief that timeless ideas about beauty and harmony can be integrated into the modern built environment, but the expression of those ideas must reflect the way we live today. MA’s collaborative, research-based approach has helped establish the firm as a leader in the revitalization of post-industrial neighborhoods and historic districts with commercial, residential, and cultural projects that are imbued with a distinct sense of place and purpose. Morris Adjmi established MA in New York City in 1997 following a 13-year, collaboration with Pritzker Prize-winning architect, Aldo Rossi. On that strong foundation, he built a practice inspired by the arts and by new technologies as well as history and tradition. Today, with projects under construction around the country, the firm is recognized for its thoughtful engagement with context, creative use of materials, and sophisticated designs.

We had an awesome time last week at the University of Cincinnati and Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation Career Fairs! We loved chatting with students about their goals and ambitions, and sharing a bit about what makes MA so special. Huge thanks to our HR Manager, Sarah Capichioni, for organizing, and to Minh Nguyen, RID, WELL AP, LEED GA, Becca Roderick, Allison Schwartz, and Chi-Feng Wu for representing us. Stay tuned for more opportunities! #morrisadjmiarchitects #wearema #architecture #urbanplanning #interiordesign #hiring #columbiauniversity #universityofcincinnatti

We're still reminiscing about all the great conversations we had at last week's Independent Lodging Congress Confab in Nashville, including Ian Mills' Forum, pictured below, about how hospitality is no longer confined to hotels. At MA, "hospitality" has evolved into a broader approach to shaping the built environment. Thanks to ILC for sharing these professional images - we had a great time connecting with new friends and old! #morrisadjmiarchitects #wearema #ilcnashville #hospitalitydesign

We're excited to see Morris Adjmi return to New Orleans for Tulane’s Back Together lecture series! Don't miss it! #morrisadjmiarchitects #wearema #nycarchitecturestudio
We're excited to welcome Morris Adjmi, FAIA (A '83) for our next 'Back Together' lecture! Join us on February 24th from 6-7 PM at Freeman Auditorium in the Woldenburg Art Center as the founder and owner of Morris Adjmi Architects shares insights from his distinguished career in architecture in 'Standing Out by Fitting In: A Study of Contrast & Coexistence.' Growing up in New Orleans, Adjmi's architectural perspective was shaped by our city's unique character. Now, as founder and principal of Morris Adjmi Architects (MA), he creates buildings that are both contextual and unmistakably contemporary. In this lecture, Adjmi will share insights from his 13-year collaboration with Pritzker Prize-winning architect Aldo Rossi and demonstrate MA's conversation-driven design ethos through a series of case studies. He'll explore how the firm's research-based methodology translates into thoughtful, expressive architecture that enriches the urban fabric while creating dialogue between past and present, form and function, and tradition and innovation. This William Kay and Nancy Proctor Turner Lecture is free and open to the public. For any questions, please contact Benjamin Neal at bneal1@tulane.edu.
