Working in conjunction with the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, our natural resources team completed an environmental review that helped to expand broadband internet access to Native households, businesses, and anchor institutions located within the boundaries of the Flathead Indian Reservation. This award-winning project exemplifies how advanced planning and holistic design can work together to create positive benefits for wildlife, companies, and the community.

Building better communities is at the heart of what our land development engineers and scientists do. We know that transforming land from its current state to a new use is a complex process that requires a versatile, common-sense approach that meets regulatory requirements. As a community-focused company, we love to help both public and private clients develop their surroundings using innovative and sustainable design practices. Let's talk more!

Geographic information system (GIS) technology is embedded in the daily operations of virtually every industry. GIS helps with data management, mapping and visualization, spatial analysis, and communicating complex ideas. Morrison-Maierle’s Steven Lowman, GISP uses GIS in a variety of ways, including mapping existing utilities, floodways, elevation data, road inventories, and airport paving assessments. Today, we’re celebrating how GIS technology has changed the way we understand, navigate, and shape our world. Happy National GIS Day!

Bringing industry-standard technology into the classroom enhances learning experiences, fosters creativity, and helps develop skills needed for future career success. Last week, Michael Brandt, P.E., Dawson Peterman, Matthew Harshbarger, and Andrew Murphy, PE, donated a VR headset to Helena High School’s architecture class. The headset, along with Revit software, will allow students to perform virtual walk-throughs of their building designs. Morrison-Maierle currently uses this technology to detect any conflicts between structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and ICT elements in our building, industrial, and municipal projects.
