On Monday, we were honored to host the launch of the Handbook of Aid and Development! Co-editors Raj M. Desai, Shanta Devarajan, and Jennifer Tobin, alongside author Steve Radelet, led an interesting conversation that made all of those who hadn't yet opened the handbook want to read it right away. Their discussion touched on chapters written by other Georgetown professors including Ken Opalo and Dan Honig. Attendees came away with a new and honest lens through which to look into aid and development. Thank you to all that attended, and a special thanks to our attendees from the Global Human Development Program (Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service)!

We kicked off the academic year at Mortara on Thursday with our annual book giveaway! Georgetown faculty members contributed books that they no longer needed or thought students should read – all of which were gone within the first half hour. This event was open to the entire Georgetown community and facilitated many conversations in between book-browsing. We look forward to hosting more successful events in the future with the support of our new and returning visitors.
