Thank you to Bend High School for welcoming Mosaic as part of its Mental Health Awareness Week this week. Our staff members enjoyed working on an art project with students and sharing information about our services, including the behavioral health consultants available at our school-based health center right there at Bend High. School-based health centers aren't just for established Mosaic patients or school students... anyone 18 and under can get an appointment to see a provider for a wide variety of needs, from physical wellness checks to behavioral health support. Learn more about school-based health centers and find one near you: https://loom.ly/7m6DPuc We are grateful to Bend La-Pine Schools for their partnership and commitment to supporting student mental health. #MentalHealthMatters #HealthyKids #HealthyTeens #HealthySchools #QualityCareForAll #SchoolBasedHealthCenters

Increasing access to quality healthcare in rural Central Oregon is part of Mosaic's core mission. As such, Mosaic is excited to welcome Ben Khalil, MD, to our Madras Health Center in August 2025. Dr. Khalil is part of the Three Sisters Rural Track Program, a partnership with OHSU designed to prepare family medicine physicians to address rural healthcare challenges, supporting Mosaic’s mission of increasing access to high-quality care in Central Oregon. As kids return to school, so do germs... with "sick season" in full swing, here's a reminder from our pediatric team about how parents and children can stay healthy: ~Wash Those Hands!~ Germs love to hitch a ride on hands touching doorknobs, desks, and other surfaces—and they often make their way to your face. Regular handwashing with soap and water, especially before eating, is one of the best ways to stay germ-free. Encourage kids to wash hands often and before meals at school. Keep a small hand sanitizer in your bag or pocket for on-the-go protection and add one to your child's backpack. At home, make a habit of wiping down frequently touched surfaces like phones and countertops. ~Stay Up to Date on Vaccines~ Now is the perfect time to ensure you’re protected with your flu, COVID-19 and RSV vaccines (if eligible). Vaccines are your best defense against serious illness. If you have any questions, contact your care team at Mosaic or schedule an appointment with your provider. ~Mask Up and Stay Home If You’re Sick~ Feeling under the weather? Help protect others by wearing a mask in public and avoiding large gatherings. Don’t forget to cough or sneeze into your elbow (not your hands!) to reduce the spread of droplets. Don't send kids to school sick (refer to your child's school health policy). ~Prioritize Wellness~ Staying hydrated, eating nourishing meals and making time for rest will help keep your immune system primed. #WinterWellness #BackToSchoolHealth #KidsHealth #FamilyHealth

While you're cleaning up after the holidays, consider donating your Oregon Bottle Drop balance to Mosaic! Start off the year by recycling your cans and bottles while also giving back to your community. Your donated balance supports our patient fund, allowing us to provide our patients with much-needed supplies that insurance may not cover such as orthotics or warming kits. Who knew that you could make this holiday season's clean-up even more rewarding? #RecyclingForGood #OregonNonProfits #BottleDrop

Oregon ended the year with it's highest rate of pertussis (whooping cough) cases since 1950. Children under 18 are much more likely to contract this highly contagious disease, and with the new school term right around the corner, now is an important time to make sure children are up to date on their DTap (age 9 and under) or Tdap vaccine (age 10 and older). Not only is the DTap/Tdap highly effective at preventing the disease, but it also helps protect those in our community who can't be vaccinated, such as newborn infants. Information about where to get a vaccine in Oregon is available from the Oregon Health Authority: https://loom.ly/-enpaWU. #DTap #Tdap #WhoopingCough #Pertussis #CommunityHealth #PopulationHealth #HealthAdvisory
