Attending the World Economic Forum in Davos was an extraordinary opportunity to represent Myna Mahila Foundation and the Hoover Institution, Stanford University and INDIA. I learned about the power of a great idea, how to be authentic, and communicate your vision effectively. More importantly, made a few unexpected lifelong friendships! Sharing some key takeaways and a few jaw-dropping facts: 1. Businesses need to push Governments harder: Businesses can play an important role in promoting "just business transformation". Imagine what could happen if more CEOs demanded, “We need fair regulations, stronger public services, and better infrastructure...now!” 2. Women-inclusive work models: I came across the innovative “Pink Warehouses” fully staffed by women that had HIGHER productivity than other warehouses, proving that female-led teams is a smart business strategy. Investing in women at every level of the workforce can boost productivity. 3. India's leadership in social impact is clear: - CSR Initiatives: India channels $3 billion annually into social impact via a 2% profit mandate. Global leaders were surprised when I brought it up. - Digital Upskilling: Telangana's massive efforts in reskilling millions and initiatives like the upcoming "Young Skill University" are setting benchmarks in education and digital empowerment. 4. Global momentum on Gender: Did you know, Africa is the only region where a woman is more likely to start a business than a man?! Lots to learn from our African counterparts. 5. AI & the Future of Work: A conversation with Anthropic's CEO emphasized the important role of thinking skills in an AI-driven era, aligning with my focus on gig platforms and bridging industry skills gaps. 6. Men, How Do You Do It All?: A simple question, "How do you do it all?" posed to men at a gender equality event, highlighted deep-seated biases and sparked discussions on more inclusive "parental stay" policies. 7. Women’s health matters: It was great to see more organizations increasing their attention on women’s health solutions—from fertility to menopause, directly impacting workforce productivity and well-being. What’s Next? These insights will fuel discussions at the Future of Work for Women Summit at Stanford this April, which I’m excited to host. We’ll dive deeper into gender-inclusive tech and AI-driven platforms. We’re eager to highlight women leaders from India who are building solutions for Bharat—whether that’s in gig work, digital upskilling, or healthcare innovations. If this resonates with you, drop a comment or DM me. Let’s collaborate to accelerate impact together. A BIG thank you to Asha Jadeja and the Motwani Jadeja Foundation for this platform!
