Happy Black Business Month!
3x Emmy Award winning TV Journalist | Live Events Producer | Global Media Trainer | Strategic Storyteller | I coach clients on how to tell more authentic + impactful stories that helps solve pressing problems.
Black women are the fastest growing group of entrepreneurs. It's a community I'm so proud to be a part of. Last week it was a joy to join Luminary and She Did That for a celebration of Black Business Month with amazing speakers who discussed everything from how to make a killer pitch to operationalizing your business and managing finances. Speaking of finances, did you know the average female Black owned business makes less than $50,000 a year? Luminary has given me the tools to make the sky and not the statistics the limit. My membership was the first and BEST investment I've made in my business. - I have learned SO MUCH! I didn't know, what I didn't know. All of my questions were validated. I needed to become a new version of myself to meet this moment and through classes and community Luminary continues to guide me through that process. - My network has grown exponentially. Cate Luzio has fostered an environment without pretense that welcomes women (and our allies) at all steps of our journey. - As a result I have collaborated with so many members. I met so many of the guests on The NEXT Best Thing Podcast through Luminary. Members have also referred me to their networks. - I have access to and have heard from women with multimillion dollar businesses. Wealth creation no longer becomes an aspiration, it's the baseline. With that said here are ways you can collaborate with MY Black owned business Mountain Court Media. I'm accepting new projects starting in mid October and I've begun solidifying opportunities for the new year. - Do you have a creative project that you're trying to execute from video to audio or a combination of both. I can help you from ideation to execution and managing post production. - Everyone is on a stage. Make sure your messages are landing with impact! Mountain Court Media trains small business owners to global corporate executives on how to authentically leave your mark. - Live editorial programming is more than just putting people on a panel. There's an art to strategically curating a discussion to create an unforgettable experience for your audience. Mountain Court Media was thrilled to partner with The Atlantic and Medtronic for "Elevating the Future of Women's Health," a breakfast and conversation at The National Press Club. It was a joy to produce the panel discussions that highlighted the urgency around addressing heart disease in women, the number one cause of death in the United States. Our role included curating the conversations, prepping the panelists and moderators along with writing executive remarks. The outcome was an extremely informative and memorable event with a clear call to action for medical professionals, patients and advocates. You can watch the discussion here: https://lnkd.in/eiiYciTY Let Mountain Court Media help you produce informative, entertaining and unforgettable programming for your next event.

What an incredible opportunity to partner with Urban One, Inc and Reach Media to Executive Produce The Amanda Seales Show for the past month. The tag line is listen, laugh and learn. Each show certainly lived up to that motto. Mountain Court Media was created with a deep desire to challenge the binary structure of storytelling and provide space for more complexity and nuance. We do this through events, audio and television productions. Send us a message if you have a mission you want to share with the world.

When a reporter is pitched someone as an expert the first thing the journalist does is go on their social media to consider a few different things: 1) Are they leveraging their own platform to discuss the thing they're being pitched for? (You would be surprised.) 2) How do they translate on camera? Are they comfortable? Do they come across as credible? 3) How have they positioned themselves in a broader marketplace? If they don't have prior media experience, have they spoken on panels or at conferences? If their social media is barren and a Google search doesn't really yield results then it's a pass. The cost of producing content is too high and so is the competition for eyeballs to take chances on someone who hasn't already demonstrated an expertise or has created an audience to show that people care about what you have to say. So instead of waiting for your moment to leverage your expertise on a bigger platform, consider creating your own buzz right where you are. All you need is a cell phone. This free guide will show you what you can do TODAY to get started. Also join the waitlist to learn more about how Mountain Court Media can help you get more visible. https://lnkd.in/enscKnrv

Storytelling is what we do! Whether it's on television, a stage, written or through audio. Give us a medium and we'll facilitate sharing stories that move audiences. Our founder, Aundrea Cline-Thomas had the pleasure of moderating a conversation, "From Start-Up to Scale" with Éva Goicochea, Divya Gugnani and Michelle Cordeiro Grant. From the unique ways they conduct market research to how to hire the best teams, these amazing founders shared their blueprint to creating multi-million dollar businesses. It was all part of Luminary's Women's History Month Summit. Need a moderator for your panel/conference that will do the research to ensure the audience walks away with tangible information? Send us a note or email us at hello@moutaincourtmedia.com .

Does the idea of being interviewed on camera make you start to sweat? How about something with lower stakes like being on camera for social media? If you answered yes to either question, you're certainly not alone. We have good news and bad news. First the bad news. Your nerves may never completely go away. As for the good news, there are ways to overcome it. Start by speaking from a place a passion. Here's what happens: 1. Your negative self talk is quieted. 2. You transcend the barrier of a screen or stage to meet audiences/ ideal clients right where they are. 3. You find your "tribe." We see it time and time again with our clients. Check out our post for prompts you can use to get started today! https://lnkd.in/eAwmezKn
