Guiding founders of early-stage SaaS startups to 7-figures | SaaS Coach & Advisor | Top 0.5% Global Podcast | 400+ SaaS Founder Interviews | Ex-Microsoft & Disney
What if I told you jumping into Product-Led Growth or hiring sales too early is holding your SaaS back? I recently chatted with Jason Radisson, founder of Movo, about how he got his startup to the first $1M in ARR. Too many founders hire salespeople or turn to PLG -- to avoid doing sales. Jason realized that founder-led sales was crucial and the best way to deeply understand his target customers. Here are 3 things I learned from that conversation: 1. Leverage Warm Intros: Instead of wasting time on thousands of cold emails, use your network to make warm intros to key prospects. 2. Target the Right Type of Buyer: A startup needs to target people with either (a) extreme pain or (b) early adopters open to new technology. 3. Build & Use Case Studies Early: Instead of rattling of features and what you *could* do, show them what you actually did for other customers. The takeaway? You don’t have to be a "salesperson", but no one knows your product as well as you -- the founder. You can learn a lot from customer conversations and drive sales by just being a great problem-solver. Not sure how to start? Start small: - Set aside 2-3 hours a week to talk to customers - Practice asking good questions and listening - Focus on how to help vs. how to sell What’s been your experience with founder-led sales?

What an incredible experience sharing work on productivity and engagement from our respective companies alongside Ariella Cohen (who brilliantly moderated), Cindy Alisesky, Jamaal Sebastian-Barnes, Nicole Boyko, Ph.D., and Tonia C. McMillan yesterday in Philadelphia. Together, we dove into the role of training, compensation levers, flexible work schedules, and organizational culture in fostering real, sustainable gains in output. The conversation was both dynamic and insightful, and I’m grateful to my fellow panelists for their perspectives. A special thanks to From Day One and the historical The Union League of Philadelphia for the warm hospitality. #Productivity #EmployeeEngagement #LeadershipInsights #FutureOfWork #FlexibleWork #SustainableGrowth #OrganizationalCulture Movo
