Investigative Genetic Genealogy and Cold Case Consultation Services

About us

Moxxy Forensic Investigations is a nonprofit corporation that provides investigative genetic genealogy (“IGG”) services to law enforcement and other investigating agencies, as well as medical examiner’s and coroner’s offices. Our services include assisting investigating agencies in identifying unknown persons and consultation on cold case investigations. These services are accomplished by utilizing extracted DNA material from the individual, combined with traditional genealogy methods to create a family tree for the unidentified that will eventually assist in the individual’s identification.

  • Every year as the holiday season approaches, many of us are faced with the often difficult decision of what to get our friends and family for Christmas. One year for example, my co-workers and I decided to have a secret Santa Christmas party, but we capped our budget at ten dollars for gifts. What ultimately resulted at our party that year, was an awkward exchange of scented candles and Starbucks gift cards. My office still smells like spiced eggnog and Christmas trees. Like many other families around the country, my family also stresses over sending out Christmas cards every year, often wishing we could send something more meaningful than a simple “Merry Christmas”, and hoping none of our loved ones are forgotten during the hustle and bustle of the season. At Moxxy, we are excited to offer you the opportunity to give a truly unique gift this year. For as little as the price of a cup of coffee, you can contribute to one of our many cases of unidentified Jane or John Does in honor of the gift recipient of your choice. This will allow us to begin the process to bring names back to the nameless, and answers to their families. Visit our website at https://lnkd.in/eC8yzsZK and you can view each case we are fundraising for. From there you can select the DONATE button and choose your contribution amount. A receipt for your donation will be emailed directly to you. If you enter the special promotion code #HOLIDAYSEASON along with the name of your gift recipient in the comments during your purchase, we will email you a specially designed gift form to give to your recipient. Your gift will be the talk of the holiday party this year, or an amazing stocking stuffer. Thank you for supporting us during this holiday season. From our Moxxy family to yours, we hope you have a very blessed Holiday season! -Matt #holidayseason

  • On May 9, 1995, the remains of a newborn female were located in Fowl River in Theodore, Alabama. The cause of death was drowning and the manner of death was homicide. In 2022, Moxxy Forensic Investigations partnered with Mobile County Sheriff's Office to utilize investigative genetic genealogy to identify the infant. The infant was identified in December of 2022 as the daughter of a Theodore, Alabama resident. The identification was confirmed in November of 2024 Moxxy Forensic Investigations would like to thank the Mobile County Sheriff's Office for trusting us with this case, along with Genalogue, Saber Investigations, DNA Labs International and Gedmatch for aiding us in the identification. Like many other families around the country, my family also stresses over sending out Christmas cards every year, often wishing we could send something more meaningful than a simple “Merry Christmas”, and hoping none of our loved ones are forgotten during the hustle and bustle of the season. According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs), there are over 15,000 people in the United States who are currently deceased, unidentified, and more often, simply forgotten. These are Jane or John Does, distinguished only by their case numbers or the circumstances of their discovery, lying restless in pauper graves and medical examiner morgues around the country. For these unknown people, the holiday season represents yet another year without a name. For the families who are searching for them, it represents another painful year without answers or closure. This holiday season, however, could be completely different. At Moxxy, we are excited to offer you the opportunity to give a truly unique gift this year. For as little as the price of a cup of coffee, you can contribute to one of our many cases of unidentified Jane or John Does in honor of the gift recipient of your choice.
