It was an honor for Sandy Munro and our team at Munro & Associates to be part of the pilot launch of Schwarze Industries LLC’s non-CDL M5 and diesel/electric hybrid battery M6 mechanical sweepers. At Munro, we take pride in helping our partners bring innovative, efficient, and market-ready products to life. Seeing Schwarze’s commitment to advancing hybrid and non-CDL mechanical sweepers is a testament to your forward-thinking approach and dedication to quality.
Sandy Munro, a legend in the automotive industry, visited recently to attend the pilot launch of our non-CDL M5 and diesel/electric hybrid battery M6 mechanical sweepers. His team from Munro & Associates was instrumental in working alongside our design and manufacturing engineers to implement the Lean Design methodology and Wall Process, ensuring Schwarze's product launch readiness of hybrid and non-CDL mechanical sweepers. As a supporter of Alamo's "pragmatic electrification" efforts (electrifying where it makes sense), he addressed our dealers and customers on the automotive industry's shift from ICE to hybrid and fully electric vehicles along with infrastructure readiness. Schwarze will be exhibiting our diesel/electric hybrid battery M6 and non-CDL M5 units at the PAVE/X Show in Chattanooga the last week of January. Then the units hit the streets collecting performance data between Q1-Q2 2025. Our hybrid M6 is a fully electric sweeper mounted on a diesel chassis. This innovative approach replaces inefficient hydraulic systems with electric drives and motors, and it replaces a 74 HP secondary sweeper engine with a generator and 48V battery pack (dropping from 64 kw to 16kw due to gained efficiencies). This pragmatic approach enables Schwarze to drop the engine size of the chassis from an L9 300HP to a 6.7L 220HP, idling at 750 RPM vs 1000 RPM compared to our conventional M6. Benefits include reduced fuel costs and emissions, reduced maintenance, better feedback and control, less noise, and higher torque of all sweeper components.
