🌊🌀We’re excited to share that our MuSat2 GNSS reflectometry (GNSS-R) mission measuring ocean surface wind speeds and soil moisture was highlighted by NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Earth Science Technology Office (ESTO). To rapidly launch MuSat2, we mated our state-of-the-art multi-channel software-defined radio (SDR) receiver to a pair of existing dual-frequency, dual-polarimetric antennas that were previously developed by the University of Michigan and The Ohio State University under the NASA ESTO Instrument Incubator Program (IIP). SpaceWERX has awarded Muon Space a Direct-to-Phase II (D2P2) contract to advance space-based environmental monitoring capabilities. The contract will support Muon Space’s development of a multi-mission, multispectral electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) instrument. The EO/IR instrument is designed to provide cloud characterization and theater weather imagery, addressing gaps in space-based environmental monitoring. We are excited to share another exciting milestone reached in the upcoming mission with our partner Hydrosat. Together, we successfully accomplished payload alignment for the upcoming Hydrosat mission. Up next, we’ll be integrating Hydrosat's multispectral and thermal infrared (IR) imaging instruments onto the spacecraft. 🌱🌍Did you know? Hydrosat is deploying a LEO constellation to provide geospatial intelligence for food security, public safety, and the environment. Our partnership represents a significant step forward in the fight against climate change, demonstrated through our shared mission to develop advanced satellite technology and data solutions to better understand and address the challenges faced by our planet. We’re excited to share an important milestone with the FireSat Protoflight satellite, bringing us closer to realizing our shared goal with Earth Fire Alliance of transforming global wildfire response and enhancing climate resilience worldwide: 🔥🛰️The FireSat Protoflight instrument has been integrated into the Muon Halo™ spacecraft. Underscored by our unique approach to satellite and mission development that enables faster time-to-orbit and cost effectiveness, this marks critical advancement towards the launch of the FireSat Protoflight satellite in March 2025. Phase one of the FireSat Constellation consisting of three spacecraft will launch in 2026.
