I recently went along to a conference on tackling food waste in the tourism sector at the brand new Fota Education Hub.
Hosted by Visit Cork, Pure Cork, Cork City Council and Cork County Council, the conference brought together tourism experts, hospitality industry specialists and innovators to talk about how working towards achieving Zero Food Waste can be transformed into a valuable tourism opportunity.
Stop Food Waste Group Executive Head Chef Alexandre Petit of Trigon Hotels, Fiona Kelleher of MyGug, Orla McAndrew, General Manager of The Brehon Hotel Neil Grant, Killarney Coffee Cup Project and more showcased the many ways hospitality is achieving #zerowaste and the positive impact it is having on tourism.
