  • We studied an employer that uses My Health Navigator for their plan members. 91% of their plan members that are engaged in our program and on a GLP-1 are using manufacturer copay assistance. Only 40% not engaged in our program are getting that assistance. Why does an employer care? Because if a plan member cannot afford their medication, they are more likely to be non-adherent. Now, why does an employer care? A plan member that has diabetes and is non-adherent to their medication regimen is now costing them up to $9,819 MORE per year. Prescription adherence is SO IMPORTANT! Employers, if you do not have a program that is ensuring your plan members are ACTUALLY USING the prescriptions you are paying for, YOU ARE EXPERIENCING WASTE!

  • "...during an office visit, physicians spend an average of only 49 seconds talking about a new prescription with the patient" 😵 How about the dispensing pharmacy? How much time do they spend counseling a patient on a new prescription? Studies report no more than 2 minutes. 💡 Can anyone confirm that patients who use mail order receive 2 minutes of counseling from a pharmacist for every new prescription? Anyone?

  • Employers, which vendor of yours is truly taking care of your employees and their families? My Health Navigator called an employee to determine how we can assist with prescription utilization (member uses multiple prescription, several high cost). Employee seemed upset stating she does not have time for this but go ahead and complete review. Employee stated her mother had just passed away and she is overwhelmed with taking care of everything. Employee stated while she was out of town with her mother in hospice, she somehow lost her thyroid medication. Employee stated it had been about 2 and a half weeks since she had taken her medication and she was feeling "off". Employee was embarrassed that she had lost her medication and was not sure what to do. We said, "We will take it from here, you have a lot going on right now. We will make some calls to ensure you get your medication." We started with the dispensing pharmacy. NO REFILLS REMAINED. Dispensing pharmacy offered to fax the prescriber. We said, "No, thanks. We will take it from here." We called the prescriber's offer. Spoke with the Medical Assistant (MA), who agreed to fax a script renewal offer ASAP. The MA even gave us, My Health Navigator, a call back to confirm the new script had been sent. We called the pharmacy back to confirm. Reported they haven't received anything from the prescriber. We called the MA back. MA picked up the phone and called the dispensing pharmacy for a verbal order. MA called us, My Health Navigator, back to confirm the new script has been sent AGAIN. We called the pharmacy back to confirm. SUCCESS! We called the employee who immediately went to the pharmacy for pick up. This employee was very thankful we took the time to ensure she had her medication. Who is taking care of your employees and their families?

When I was growing in the profession of retail pharmacy- I always looked forward to getting monthly editions of Pharmacy journals, Pharmacy Times was one of them - today I received the Journal and got to see a spot light on our pharmacy- Advanced Health Pharmacy- there is an assault on the independent pharmacy by the PBM’s where this year there are 5 pharmacies are closing daily! I am sharing in the article what all can be done to improve your bottom line to stay competitive till the lawmakers actually do something about the situation! Just filling retail Rx is NOT sustainable… A big thanks to Karen Berger PharmD for asking me all the right questions and writing a beautiful piece!

  • What does My Health Navigator do? Our staff reached out to a plan member that was identified as "high risk" by her health plan. Upon reviewing her medical history and current medication list, we found several concerns: - OTC NSAID + CELECOXIB + OTC Fish Oil + Anticoagulant with supratherapeutic INR range = 📈 Bleed Risk - Heart Failure + PIOGLITAZONE + NSAID = 📈 💗 Adverse Event Risk - Not current on vaccines for 50+ (shingles and pneumonia) The only way these risks and gaps in care can be identified is through personalized, one-on-one care. Put the human back in healthcare with My Health Navigator
