NACC maintains one of the largest relational databases of standardized clinical and neuropathological research data.
About us
The National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center was established in 1999 by the National Institute on Aging/NIH to facilitate collaborative research. Using data collected from NIA-funded Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers (ADRCs) across the United States, NACC has developed and maintains a large relational database of standardized clinical and neuropathological research data. In partnership with the Alzheimer's Disease Genetics Consortium (ADGC), the National Centralized Repository for Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders (NCRAD), and the NIA Genetics of Alzheimer's Disease Data Storage Site (NIAGADS), NACC provides a valuable resource for both exploratory and explanatory Alzheimer's disease research. NACC data are freely available to all researchers.

🎉The University of Wisconsin-Madison Alzheimer's Disease Research Center is the first site to conduct scans as part of the Clarity in Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias Research Through Imaging (CLARiTI) initiative. This five-year study will gather state-of-the-art imaging and blood-based biomarker data that will be freely available to researchers everywhere via the National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center Data Platform. Barbara Smith Ballen (pictured below with Dr. Sterling Johnson), one of CLARiTI’s first study participants says, “I am committed to doing whatever I can to help end this devastating disease and hopefully others will follow my lead. I truly believe that this research team has what it takes to make a breakthrough; they just need to stay persistent.” Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/gYeeNRMz
