NALS was formed in 1929 and was incorporated in 1949 and has been dedicated to members of the legal community ever since. By providing exceptional education opportunities and networking arenas, NALS has continued to be THE association for legal professionals. Whether you are a legal secretary in a local small firm or a senior paralegal in a global firm NALS will offer you opportunities to grow your career. NALS offers sessions and conferences nationwide providing expert education and professional development opportunities. Members build life-long friendships with colleagues from around the country and use these friendships to build both professional and personal relationships. As we step into 2025, NALS is excited to announce a change to our membership renewal process that will help make NALS more efficient and member focused. Starting with the 2025-2026 membership year, all NALS memberships will follow one unified renewal cycle from May 1 – April 30 annually. Instead of NALS members having individual renewal dates occurring throughout the year, every membership will expire and be renewed at the same time. Every NALS membership will now expire on April 30, and May 1 will be the start of the next year's membership cycle. No need to worry! We'll guide you through the process and email you more details as we implement this change at the beginning of the new year.
