Thanks to Davangere DUDC and TIDE for organising a training on 27th June 2024 for the ULB officials to tackle Solid Waste Management challenges in their respective municipalities.    We got an opportunity to share experiences on how to get the households to segregate their waste and presented innovations & case studies on successful implementation of source segregation at various locations.    The session also featured insightful contributions from Mr. Chithambarachary from ZIGMA on clearing legacy waste, including planning, implementation and monitoring of legacy waste remediation.   From Namathi, we extend best wishes to the six Davanagere ULBs—Honnali, Nyamathi, Channagiri, Harihara, Malebennur, and Jagalur—as they work towards improving source segregation and initiating legacy waste remediation.   We appreciate the efforts put by TIDE who have come forward to provide technical support for small towns in the water and sanitation sector with support from BORDA under the Integrated Water Management project. I'm excited to share that my journey in waste management, starting from grassroots and driven by a passion for environmental stewardship, has led me to become an entrepreneur today. With over 7 years of experience in solid waste management, including roles as a SWM expert at SBM (SLRM implementation in Udupi District), Saahas & Saahas Zero Waste, I am excited about the path ahead. Introducing Namathi Resource Management Pvt Ltd, my new venture in waste management has secured the first project, which involves operating the 10 TPD Materials Recovery Facility for the Udupi City Municipal Council. Our goal is to process a minimum of 3,000 MT dry waste per year with maximum resource recovery. This is just the beginning of an exciting journey, and I invite you to join me as we embark on this path of challenges, livelihood, innovation and sustainability.
