At the beginning of the year I shared a collection of predictions for the biggest topics of 2024- so it's fascinating seeing articles like these at the end of the year that reflect those predictions beat by beat. "The 5 US brands using purpose and community building to connect with consumers" https://lnkd.in/gyJh6tUb community engagement ✔️ trust building ✔️ sustainability? ✔️ tech/AI integrations? ✔️ How have you seen these predicted themes emerge (or not) this year? And what are the big topics you anticipate seeing in 2025?
What can the influx of end-of-year reflections and new year predictions offer us besides too much reading? I have 2 suggestions and a few trends from across industries we should be paying attention to. Where to start: 1) Consider the different trends that may impact your work, even in other industries. Taking a systemic approach to social justice means considering how trends across fields might be integrated. 2) Consider implications for future measurement. Prepare your organization by looking at what was most useful in the year-in-review reports, and consider how you can collect what’s needed to revisit at the end of 2024. What we're watching: Looking across some of my favorite end-of-year reports (linked in comments)I noticed several themes popping up across industries: 🌎 Climate change discussions become increasingly political and inescapable. 🗳️ The election will dominate and divide on both sides of the aisle. 🏦 Economic turbulence is coming to a head, impacting everything from staff retention, to discussions on worker ownership, and labor activism. 🤝 Trust is more important than ever, which means spending more time focusing on building community via social and leading with trust when tackling any topic. 💻 Technology/AI will be on everyone’s minds, and we can expect it to intersect with all other issues in rapidly changing ways.
