NATAE is a four-year project aiming to foster agroecological transition in North Africa. Bringing together a multidisciplinary and multi-actor consortium (research and education institutions, international organizations and local NGOs) from around the Mediterranean, it will identify optimal combinations of agro-ecological practices and develop a replicable methodology to design locally-tailored strategies for AE transitions.

🌾🌱 Promoting Sustainable Farming in Tunisia! 🌱🌾 On 12 February, the National Institute of Field Crops, the Tunisian National Institute of Agronomy, and the Krib-Siliana territorial extension unit organised an Information Day on Integrated Pest Management as part of the NATAE project. Experts discussed sustainable solutions for managing fungal diseases, weeds in cereals, and broomrape in legumes, highlighting the importance of reducing chemical pesticide use while ensuring healthy crop growth. 🌍🌿 #SustainableFarming #IntegratedPestManagement #Agriculture #NATAE #GreenFarming 🌾
نظم المعهد الوطني للزراعات الكبرى بالتعاون مع المعهد الوطني للفلاحة بتونس وخلية الارشاد الفلاحي بالكريب يوما إعلاميا حول "المكافحة المندمجة للآفات الزراعية: الأمراض الفطرية والأعشاب الضارة بمزارع الحبوب وعشب الهالوك بالبقوليات" بمقر الاتحاد المحلي للفلاحة والصيد البحري بالكريب يوم 12 فيفري 2024 وذلك في إطار مشروع "افق 2020 لتعزيز التحول الزراعي الإيكولوجي في شمال أفريقيا، NATAE". حيث تطرقت المداخلات الى ضرورة اعتماد مختلف الطرق والتقنيات الزراعية الممكن اعتمادها في إطار منهجية مندمجة بهدف عقلنة استعمال المبيدات الكيميائية وضمان نمو حسن للمزروعات. Une journée d’information intitulée « La lutte intégrée contre les bio agresseurs : les maladies fongiques et les mauvaises herbes dans les cultures céréalières et l’orobanche dans les légumineuses », a été organisée par l’Institut national des grandes cultures, L’Institut National d’Agronomie de Tunisie et la cellule territoriale de vulgarisation du Krib-Siliana , dans le cadre du projet NATAE, le 12 Février à l’Union régionale d’agriculture et de la pêche au Krib. Les interventions ont abordé la nécessité d'adopter diverses méthodes et techniques agricoles pouvant être adoptées dans le cadre d'une méthodologie intégrée dans le but de rationaliser l'utilisation des pesticides chimiques et d'assurer une bonne croissance des cultures. #INGC #Inat #ciheam_montpellier #natae

🌱 Launch of Cross-Visits in Tunisia: Siliana - El Krib Living Laboratory From January 25–28, farmers, researchers, and development actors from Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, France, and the Netherlands gathered for the first cross-visit of the NATAE project. The Regional Conference on "Agroecology: Science and Policy" moves forward. After a first day of discussions and exchanges, the second day is underway, focusing on the role of scientific research and policy in advancing the agroecological transition in North Africa.
