Great to see Matthew Peach leading such valuable ECF sessions for first-year ECTs in Blackpool. His focus on evidence-based practices and commitment to supporting teachers reflects the core mission of the National Institute of Teaching. Well done to Matthew for his continued impact in the field of education. 👏📚 #ECF #TeacherSupport #NIoT

I had the pleasure of delivering one of our ECF sessions last night to a group of first year ECTs in Blackpool. It was great to get back talking to teachers about their lived experience. We covered some of the content held in self-study before examining the evidence around retrieval practice. It was great to have so many reflective practitioners, who knew the importance of retrieval practice but challenged how it might be implemented in the primary phase. We discussed the limits and barriers we might face but also what good practice looks like in this area. A great session and huge testament to Katy Micklewright and the whole ECF and content team!
