"As I think back on this year, there is a lot to be grateful for. I think about where we would be without the tireless efforts of front-line staff, advocates, community leaders and many others across the field. "Whether you are an outreach worker or a Continuum of Care lead, provide services in a rural area or big city, or have been working in this field for three months or 30 years – know that the hard work of ending homelessness wouldn’t happen without you. "This work isn’t easy, and I want to make sure you know how much we at the Alliance appreciate you and your work. Thank you for continuing to show up for people experiencing homelessness year after year. I’m grateful for all that we’ve accomplished in 2024, and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish together in 2025." Read more from Alliance CEO, Ann Oliva: https://buff.ly/3Zpqvnt

About us
The National Alliance to End Homelessness is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization whose sole purpose is to end homelessness in the United States. We use research and data to find solutions to homelessness; we work with federal and local partners to create a solid base of policy and resources that support those solutions; and then we help communities implement them. Our strength is that we are an outcome-driven organization. Starting with our name and continuing with how we choose the work we do, allocate staff time, and use our resources, we focus on one thing: ending homelessness. The Homelessness Research Institute at the National Alliance to End Homelessness works to end homelessness by building and disseminating knowledge that drives policy change.

This week, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness announced historic reductions in veteran homelessness, bringing it to the lowest levels in the history of HUD's record keeping. The Alliance applauds all of the federal partners, system leaders, and providers who contributed to this incredible achievement. “The secret to this decrease is not a mystery,” said Ann Oliva, CEO of the National Alliance to End Homelessness. “Ending homelessness comes down to three things: using person-centered and evidence-based policy and program design, providing key resources at a scale necessary to get the job done, and showing the leadership and public will to keep a long-term commitment to our goals. Our leaders have honored that commitment to veterans; it is now time for them to honor it for the rest of the nation.” https://buff.ly/3Co0WtY
