Anderson urges the 118th Congress to prioritize #PBMreform before concluding work in 2024 ⤵️ 💬: “Urgent needs remain – and unavoidable duties call – for the current 118th Congress. Congress already has done the hard work to develop and to forge bipartisan consensus on how to reform the tactics of market-dominant pharmaceutical middlemen – PBMs. More than two-thirds of voters agree – Congress should consider PBM reform to be ‘must-pass legislation’ before concluding work in 2024. Anderson issued the following statement upon The New York Times publishing of an article titled “The Middlemen: The Powerful Companies Driving Local Drugstores Out of Business” – the second article in a series described by the paper as being about “how pharmacy benefit managers distort the health care system at the expense of patients, employers, and taxpayers”:   💬: "This article is yet another important demonstration of the need for Congress to enact the bipartisan PBM reforms on which the hard work already has been done. 🚨 A new poll conducted by Morning Consult reveals that most registered voters are looking to their members of Congress to produce a #PBMreform law this year. The poll, conducted October 1-3, found ⤵️ 🔹 More than two-thirds (69%) of registered voters agree that Congress should consider legislation to reform PBMs’ role and actions in healthcare as “must-pass legislation” before concluding its work in 2024. 🔹 69% of registered voters agree that their member of Congress “should do whatever it takes” to ensure Congress enacts such legislation in 2024.
