Congratulations to the 2025 BBWAA Career Excellence Award winner, Thomas Boswell! Boswell, who for 52 years at The Washington Post as a baseball beat writer and later a columnist became one of the most notable and recognizable names in sports writing, will be honored with the award that is presented annually to a sportswriter “for meritorious contributions to baseball writing” during the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum’s induction weekend July 25-28 in Cooperstown, N.Y. Tom Hamilton, who has called Cleveland Guardians games on the radio for 35 seasons, has been selected as the 2025 recipient of the Ford C. Frick Award, presented annually for excellence in broadcasting by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Hamilton will be honored during the Hall of Fame Awards Presentation as part of Hall of Fame Weekend, July 25-28, 2025. Hamilton becomes the 49th winner of the Frick Award. Welcome to Cooperstown, Dick Allen and Dave Parker! Allen, a seven-time All-Star and two-time home run champion, and Parker, a two-time batting champion and the owner of two World Series rings, earned election to the National Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday via the Classic Baseball Era Committee process. They will be joined in the Hall of Fame Class of 2025 by any electees who emerge from the Baseball Writers’ Association of America voting, which will be announced on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
