As we close out 2024, we extend our deepest gratitude to everyone across National CAPACD’s coalition who made this year impactful. 💙 The dedication of the local, community-based organizations that make up our coalition to advance housing security, economic justice, and neighborhood preservation for AA and NHPI communities has been inspiring. Together, we’ve strengthened our collective capacity to combat displacement, empower communities, and create equitable opportunities for all. This collective capacity will allow us to persevere through the challenges and opportunities ahead for AA and NHPI communities. At our recent coalition meeting, National CAPACD’s leadership outlined our plans to work closely with our members to navigate the political environment we anticipate for the coming years. Thank you for being part of the National CAPACD coalition and for your incredible work in your communities. This year is a continued demonstration of what we can achieve together, and we look forward to protecting all we have achieved collectively and deepening our impact in 2025! ✨ 📸: Group photo by Les Talusan (lestalusan.com) from the #BuildingCAPACD2024 Convention in Chicago, IL.

About us
The National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development (National CAPACD) is a coalition of nearly 100 community-based organizations spanning 21 states and the Pacific Islands. Our members work in low-income Asian American, Native American, and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) communities to improve housing security and preserve our neighborhoods. We disseminate national resources locally, share best practices and advocate for community needs at the national level. Our work improves the lives of the over two million AAs and NHPIs living in poverty nationwide. MISSION National CAPACD advances equity and creates vibrant, healthy neighborhoods by mobilizing and strengthening a powerful coalition of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander community-based organizations working in low-income communities. VISION Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, and all communities of color live and thrive equitably and are empowered to collectively shape their neighborhoods.

✨As we reflect on 2024, we’re proud to highlight the incredible progress and milestones achieved by National CAPACD and our coalition. Together, we’ve advanced housing security, economic justice, and neighborhood preservation for AA and NHPI communities across the country. ✨ This year, National CAPACD embarked on transformative initiatives to build climate resilience and expand access to capital. We joined the Justice Climate Fund (JCF) to deploy green lending in disadvantaged communities, launched the Climate Coalition Capacity Building Project with national partners, and hosted a Climate Roundtable where 15 organizations from across our coalition were brought together to discuss how they are building climate resilience in their local communities. National CAPACD’s affiliate organization, Our Neighborhoods Capital Fund (ONCF), reached key milestones to uplift the capital needs of organizations serving low-income AAPI communities, including receiving a Technical Assistance (TA) grant from the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund). As we approach the end of the year, we want to acknowledge our funders for their generous support of our mission in 2024. We are grateful for PNC’s support of National CAPACD’s financial empowerment program, which helps AA and NHPI community members achieve financial stability and build financial confidence. This program supports community-based organizations in delivering culturally competent financial literacy, providing one-on-one coaching, and fostering economic resilience for low- and moderate-income (LMI) households. With PNC’s partnership, we are creating pathways to financial inclusion and promoting equitable economic opportunities. 📸: Photos from a 2019 financial empowerment program hosted by National CAPACD member organization, Chinese Community Center of Houston. #FinancialEmpowerment #EconomicJustice #CommunityDevelopment

As we approach the end of the year, we want to acknowledge our funders for their generous support of our mission in 2024. We’re thankful for TD Charitable Foundation's support of the Our Neighborhoods Capital Fund (ONCF). Together, we’re advancing an inclusive economy through equitable access to capital and preserving AAPI historic and cultural districts as vital economic assets. ONCF bridges financing gaps for National CAPACD members working on property acquisition and development to prevent displacement in rapidly gentrifying neighborhoods. By deploying capital to nonprofit borrowers, ONCF supports community and commercial real estate projects that allow low- and moderate-income individuals, small businesses, and nonprofits to stay rooted in their neighborhoods and communities. Thank you, TD Bank, for investing in a future where everyone has the opportunity to flourish. 📸: #ThrowbackThursday to the grand opening of the Casa Yondé, a 52-unit affordable housing development in Los Angeles' Koreatown, opened on January 20, 2015. We received a generous grant from Capital One to support National CAPACD’s Housing Counseling (HC) Program. This work empowers AA and NHPI communities through culturally competent HC programs to navigate affordable housing, achieve financial stability, and sustain homeownership.
