TODAY'S HEALTHCARE NEWS: The Biden Administration has CMS addressing obesity head-on by proposing that #Medicare and #Medicaid cover groundbreaking anti-obesity medications. Nancy Glick, Director of Food and Nutrition Policy at the National Consumers League, calls the proposal "a major step forward in ensuring quality care for adults with obesity." This move could dramatically improve health outcomes for 7.4 million Americans, save lives, and close the treatment gaps in obesity care. Why it matters: -Obesity is the most widespread chronic disease in the U.S., linked to 230+ other conditions. -The proposed rule would reduce out-of-pocket expenses for anti-obesity medications by up to 95%. -Only 10% of individuals with obesity currently receive medical help. The National Consumers League celebrates this step forward in healthcare equity. Let’s support policies that prioritize better health for all.

🚨 Senate Report Unveils Airline Junk Fees! 🚨 The new Senate report has lifted the veil on the airline industry's deceptive "ancillary" fees. These charges aren't designed to improve the passenger experience—they're a sneaky way to overcharge consumers and prey off their needs. John Breyault, Vice President of Public Policy, Telecommunications, and Fraud at NCL, comments: "In reality, airline junk fees are nothing more than money grabs, unaffected by competition, and designed to hide the true cost of flying from consumers. Adding insult to injury, by exploiting a tax loophole, these junk fees deprive America’s essential infrastructure like airports, air traffic control, and commercial space flight oversight, of almost half a billion dollars in revenue per year. It is past time for Congress, DOT, and Treasury to rein in these out-of-control junk fees.” #AirlineFees #Transparency #ConsumerRights
