  • The National ICT Job Fair is a transformative initiative by the Ministry of ICT & National Guidance and Huawei dedicated to empowering Uganda's youth, fostering innovation, and bridging the gap between talent and opportunity. Now in its 3rd edition, the fair is themed "Shaping Uganda’s Digital Future: Bridging Skills, Innovation, and Opportunity" and offers a unique platform for job seekers, employers, and industry leaders to connect. Highlights include masterclasses on cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence, career guidance sessions, and panel discussions exploring the future of work. During the opening ceremony: Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, Prime Minister of Uganda, applauded the Ministry for its efforts: "ICT remains one of the fastest-growing sectors. We are committed to reducing internet costs, making digital devices affordable, and enabling the growth of this vital sector." H.E. Zhang Lizhong, Ambassador of China to Uganda, highlighted the critical role of ICT: "ICT is a key pillar and driver of the economy, essential for the digital economy and innovation development. The sector’s contribution to Uganda’s economy has been significant, and our collaboration continues to grow." Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, Minister of ICT and National Guidance, underscored the growing collaboration between Uganda and China: "We’ve significantly strengthened our partnership, paving the way for impactful initiatives in technology, trade, and innovation—key drivers of economic growth." Dr. Aminah Zawedde, Permanent Secretary, emphasized the fair’s mission: "This isn’t just a job fair; it’s a platform to connect talent, address youth unemployment, and shape Uganda's digital future.
