About us
NIAA's vision is to be the leading resource for the animal agriculture industry and provide value to all stakeholders involved in providing safe and healthy food for the world. We do this through our mission - convening animal agriculture experts and allies in collaborative settings to explore, discuss, learn, and develop knowledge that fosters interdisciplinary cooperation for the improvement and continuous progress of animal agriculture. If you are a professional engaged in animal agriculture - a farmer or rancher, student, veterinarian, scientist, government or allied industry leader then membership in NIAA is for you. NIAA carries a strong legacy of providing the U.S. livestock industry with a forum to collectively address issues of common interest. Successor to the Livestock Conservation Institute (LCI), NIAA began operations in January 2000 and addresses issues of interest to the animal agriculture sector of today's food system, providing vital industry information, continuing education and communication outlets for animal agriculture professionals.

“I think we have a misconception that if consumers have all the information they will make rational decisions. This is not the case.” Renata Ivanek-Miojevic provided a fantastic overview of her research regarding what consumers are willing to pay for various labels on milk.
