Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges; Tata Power Launches E-Sanidhya with National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, GOI and Tata Elxsi. With 12 million children in India on the neurodiversity spectrum—36% of the total disabled population—and a global rise in autism diagnosis by 175% over the past decade, the need for fast-growing support systems for neurodiverse individuals is more pressing than ever. On this World Disability Day, under its Pay Autention initiative, Tata Power Community Trust proudly dedicated E-Sanidhya to serve across nation via the NIEPID & MSJE systems & Purple Directory of support organisations. The event, hosted at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, was inaugurated by the President of India along with Hon’ble Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment and DePwD Secretary, Director NIEPID along with Tata Power and Tata Elxsi teams. E-Sanidhya is set to catalyze a bridgital paradigm; connecting organizations and specialists serving the neurodiverse to collaborate and innovate enhanced methods to view, support, and build meaningful bridges to transform home-care ecosystem for neurodiverse children, their families & caregivers. Key features include user-friendly preliminary screening tools, online video consultations with specialized professionals, tutorials & webinars for inclusive behaviors, & e-learning modules on home care and online therapy sessions. Via mass-testing phase in last 4 months alone this platform has engaged with 8000+ users and phygital workshops have been specially conducted for 2000+ parents, anganwadi workers, school teachers, multidisciplinary professionals, Army Asha & public schools, etc. via NIEPID extension centers. On the occasion of #InternationalDayofPersonswithDisabilities #NIEPID conducted series of events for persons with Intellectual Disabilities at NIEPID premises on 3.12.2024. As part of “Open Day” more than 4000 high school students visited to NIEPID and observed the services of the Institute. An exclusive webinar conducted on Schemes and Benefits for PwIDs conducted through online mode wherein 43 participants attended for the programme. Quiz competition on concept of Persons with Disabilities was conducted at Conference hall and certificates distributed to the best performance winners. Success stories (PwIDs, Parents & Employers) were presented at Auditorium through AV mode for all the attendees. During the afternoon hours parent training programme on “Entrepreneurship Development of PwIDs” conducted for the parents of PwIDs. Drawing and Painting Competition for SEC & DAIL trainees conducted on the selected and identified trainees. Client registration for UDID, NHFDC, RCI & NIRAMAYA undertaken for the applied candidates. Inclusive games & Unified Sports for SEC and DAIL trainees also conducted for the persons with Intellectual Disabilities on Special Olympic Bharat games. Exhibition of products prepared by PwIDs also showcased at Auditorium portico for the visitors and demo also undertaken during the event. Sales counter for end products prepared by DAIL/ Voc Organizations encouraged for promotion of self employment avenues. Cultural Activities (Music, Dance, Mimicry) for children with special needs for music, dance and special arts performed at Auditorium. Hod DRP, NIEPID was awarded by the National Awards-2024 for Individual Excellence in the category of 'Divyangata Ke Kshetra Mein Karyarat Sarvshreshth Punarvas Peshewar (Rehabilitation Professional) by Hon’ble *Smt Droupadi Murmu* , President of India. Under the theme of “Advancing Inclusivity towards Empowerment of Divyangjans” , E-sanidhya platform and computer based NIEPID Indian Test of Intelligence initiatives by NIEPID was launched by Hon’ble Dr. Virendra Kumar,* Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment. “The #ConstitutionDay” was celebrated at #NIEPID Headquarters today the 26th November 2024 commemorating the adoption of Constitution on 26 November 1949 by the Government of India. The preamble was read out and a pledge was taken by all , Major Dr.Venkata ram kumar Bokka, Director, faculty, staff and students of the Institute. On the occasion, the Director emphasized that it is the responsibility of each and everyone to know the Constitution and understand their duties towards the Nation. National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, Secunderabad conducted 3 days CRE program on 21st-23rd October 2024 NIEPID- Indian Test of Intelligence. It was attended by 28 RCI registered Rehabilitation Professionals and Psychologists from Govt and Non-Govt. organizations. This was the 13th Workshop on NIEPID Indian Test of Intelligence. Dr Venkata ram kumar Bokka, Director #NIEPID inaugurated the session. The Inaugural session was addressed by Dr. B. V. Ram Kumar, Director, NIEPID, Prof. Saroj Arya, Resource person, Shri Dashrath choudhari, HoD, and the Program Coordinator, Dr. Sunita Devi, Lecturer, Rehabilitation Psychology, NIEPID, Secunderabad. Certificates were distributed to all the participants at the end of 3rd day. The training program was successfully concluded with vote of thanks by HoD, Department of Rehabilitation Psychology and the program coordinator Dr. Sunita Devi, NIEPID Secunderabad.

A webinar on Yoga and Well-Being was successfully conducted as part of the #MentalHealthWeek ( 7 - 11 October 2024) . The session highlighted the positive impact of yoga on both mental and physical health. Shri Ganesh Sheregar, Principal of SEC NIEPID, delivered an insightful talk on how regular yoga practice can reduce stress, improve emotional balance, and enhance overall well-being. Participants were guided through various yoga techniques.
