Honor your ancestors this Giving Tuesday and support the National Italian American Foundation! The mission of NIAF is to celebrate and advance the inspiring achievements and uplifting values of the Italian culture and presence in America and to strengthen and empower ties between the United States and Italy. Each year, NIAF awards over a million dollars in scholarships, grants, and provides educational programs to young Italian American students. We work hard every day to uphold the traditions of the Italian culture and we are proud to support the Italian American community, but none of this would be possible without your help. If you connect with NIAF’s mission, NIAF invites you to consider us this #GivingTuesday. Your tax-deductible donation, whether big or small, will help NIAF further its mission into the new year: http://bit.ly/3F7Qs0z

On November 9, 2024, the USS John Basilone (DDG-122) was officially commissioned as a new naval destroyer named for the great Italian American World War Two hero, Gunnery Sergeant John Basilone. Born to Italian immigrant parents from Benevento, Italy, John Basilone was the only service man to receive both the Congressional Medal of Honor and the Navy Cross during World War Two.
