#MemorialMonday, when we highlight a line-of-duty death from this date in history. Today we remember Police Officer James Goode from the Vicksburg (MS) Police Department, who attempted to question three subjects. When he told them to put their hands up, one suspect drew a gun and began firing. Please consider supporting us in our mission to honor the more than 24,000 law enforcement heroes whose names adorn our sacred #memorial, including Officer Goode who died on January 6, 1930. The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund depends on the support of a special group of volunteers: Ambassadors. The NLEOMF Ambassador Program identifies individuals in law enforcement across the nation who believe passionately in our mission to honor the fallen, tell the story of American law enforcement, and make it safer for those who serve. Ambassadors demonstrate this commitment by building awareness and generating support for the organization, while giving officers the opportunity to participate—firsthand—in honoring the men and women whose names are engraved on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
