Behavioral health care is long overdue for transformation through innovation. 🏥 Millions of people, particularly women and communities of color, face mental health and substance use challenges without adequate support. Women are disproportionately affected with higher rates of mental illness and higher rates of unmet behavioral health needs. The Innovation in Behavioral Health (IBH) model from Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) aims to improve access and health outcomes by integrating physical health and behavioral health services within trusted community-based behavioral health practices, offering a “no wrong door” approach to whole-person care. This model prioritizes health equity through screening for health related social needs and invests in building the health IT infrastructure. Give 8/28 isn’t like other fundraising campaigns. It takes place during Black Philanthropy Month and commemorates multiple important historical landmarks in Black American’s march toward freedom that all happened on August 28, such as the day Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his iconic “I Have A Dream” speech in Washington, D.C. on August 28, 1963.
