Did you know that the National Theatre is the largest employer in the not-for-profit theatre sector, and a skills incubator for the entire creative industries? We are always looking for more opportunities to train our future workforce and boost specialist skills across all areas of theatre. 🏆 This is why receiving one of the Princess Royal Training Awards, in recognition of our brilliant apprenticeship programme, is a very special moment for us. The award recognises 'exceptional commitment to learning and development’ and we are one of the 52 organisations to be awarded this year, and the first theatre to ever have received this prestigious award! If that wasn't enough, we are also one of five organisations to win the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commendation in recognition of our apprenticeships scheme addressing the lack of diversity in the workforce and removing barriers. 👏 Huge congratulations to our team and partners who are so passionate about inspiring creativity and opening more career pathways for young people.
So proud to receive the Princess Royal Training Award from City & Guilds for National Theatre Apprenticeships. Had a lovely day with Kate John and Chanel Srisung! #PrincessRoyalTrainingAwards2024

💭 Do you remember what inspired you to pursue the career you’re in? 🌟 This week marks Discover! Creative Careers Week and we are proud to support this important national initiative to create greater visibility of routes into the creative sector and spotlight the huge array of skills and roles needed to create world-class theatre. 🎭 As the largest factory in London and a skills incubator for the creative industries, we are committed to supercharging specialist skills needed to nurture the next generation of theatre-makers. Since 2011, we have been training apprentices here at the NT, with 90% going on to be employed within the sector. If you’re interested in exploring a career in theatre, we are currently recruiting for our free training programmes Nationwide Young Technicians and How to be a Producer. ✅ This month, we are also welcoming new students on placements across our building for a brand-new Media, Broadcast and Production T-Level, which the NT played a role in shaping. Our brilliant Head of Technical Qualifications, Kath Geraghty, has penned a piece in Arts Professional discussing the transformative impact that T-Levels can have across the wider creative industries. We hope this will inspire more organisations within the arts to explore similar programmes to address skills shortages across the sector. #discovercreativecareers #creativecareers 👉 https://lnkd.in/eXPSvgKW
